Title: Workstation Configuration
Post by: Francois-Regis Jaunatre on August 19, 2002, 12:26:20 PM
Hi Everyone !

I'm experiencing some problem getting my workstations on the internet. The configuration via DHCP is not ok.

I don't have much more information. I'm running a SME 5.5 box. One last thing to notice is that the upgrade was very fine, then I went on holiday. Meanwhile, I connected to my server to configure mldonkey (peer to peer client) and I kind of forgot that I hadn't much space left on the hard drive, so everything went very bad when the hard drive went out of space... Now everything is ok, the server is online, except the DHCP doesn't give access to the internet, orthe server doesn't let the workstations out (the intranet is perfectly working).

Hope I got myself clear (english is not always that easy...)

And hope someone can help.

Francois-Regis.

Without detailed descriptions it is hard to give help.

Firstly though the DHCP server doesnt give access to Internet. DHCP ist there to give client pcs an IP/adresse.

Squid is there so that the clients can go in the internet....

Please look to see axactly what is wrong!

I'm sorry I didn't know squid was involved... getting it to run was quite necessary as it was stopped... everything is ok now.

Thx for helping.
