Title: MySQL - default DB destroyed - recovery ?
Post by: gieres on March 06, 2015, 09:20:18 PM
Hi,

SME Server 8 as server AND gateway

Using PHPMyadmin, I have deleted by mistake the databases: HORDE and TEST.
I read on smeserver.fr that HORDE is associated with Webmail. But Webmail seems to work well.
There is no specific databases used on SMEServer, so, it is possible to reset all MYSQL during work processing.

Questions:
- is it dangerous ?
- how to restore these databases?
- using AFFA, is there a backup of these databases ?

I plan to reinstall SME with the "restore" function of the install CD. What do you think of this ?

Thanks for your comments.

User preferences for webmail are stored in the mysql db.

Yes but depending which version of Affa you are using & the way you use Affa, there can be restore & other problems.

If you mean one of the default backup & restore functions then that is supported & safe to do.
