Title: HP DL320 Issue with fan speed
Post by: 2e0bay on March 07, 2015, 06:22:37 PM
Hi,
I hope this is the right place to ask this...

I have just installed SME onto a old P4 DL320 to act as a gateway to my network... The main issue is I cant stop the server fans from running full speed...... If I cant shut them up Ill have to try another OS...

Any suggestions gratefully received

Thanks Andy

Hi.. can you tell us the exact model?
My guess is that your old hw is not fully supported by centos6

The HCL gives your server as supported until from G6 and beyond.
I suppose Your is a G4 more or less so should be not supported.
I had similar issue with other Proliant usually solved/solvebable with BIOS upgrades.
Check if Your Bios is the last one.
