You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: package-cleanup --problems
package-cleanup --dupes
rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
The program package-cleanup is found in the yum-utils package.

Applied it manually last night from http://ftp.riken.jp/Linux/centos/5/updates/i386/RPMS/openssl-0.9.8e-33.el5_11.i386.rpm, guess I couldn't wait for it to be pushed.

Hello bunkobugsy
Thanks, now installed via yum localinstall, working great.

Hello guy's
I'am getting the same error when update openssl-perl-0.9.8e-34.el5_11.i386 , as I have with openssl-perl-0.9.8e-33.el5_11.i386. Se start of this tread.
All other update can be installed without error, Its 8 days ago I get the notify about openssl update.

See http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8925
This is fixed with an updated smeserver-support RPM, but needs to be verified before being pushed as an official update
-
Hey Daniel
Thanks for quick support, I'am waiting for it to be pushed.

Or you can help with the verification, and the update will be pushed sooner ;-)
If you want to help and have never work on bug verification before, you can have a look at this page: http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:QA:Verification which explains the process

Hi Daniel
I read it and will return soon with an answer.
I am not a programmer, but can safely test the extensions as described in the wiki
Is it possible to test smeserver on Oracle VM Virtuelbox in win 7? I think there is a problem with the gateway setup as there are not two nic.

Yes, you can test SME Server in Virtual Box or any other virtualization tool (VMWare, KVM etc...). For a simple setup, you can test with only one NIC in serveronly mode. There's no problem running it as a server&gateway with 2 NIC but this will require a bit more work and depend on the virtualization tool you're using

I got tired of the daily nagging from the server (servers) that there is an update available and me beeing unable to update. So I upgraded manually from:
ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/ftp.centos.org/5.11/updates/i386/RPMS/openssl-0.9.8e-34.el5_11.i386.rpm
I know this is not the proper way to do things, but...
-
The proper fix would be for someone to verify http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8925 so everyone can get the update
-
I was going to do it last week, unfortunately someone decided to die and I had to be elsewhere, how about someone gets off their arse and verifies it for me?
-
Looks like Terry dd verfiy the openssl update, but it has not been pushed to the repos (at least I'm not seeing it anyway).
-
Yep, did it, unfortunately being blunt did not work :-)
-
I think the updates have been released now.
-
Yes, an update has been pushed yesterday. If you already have openssl-perl installed, you should first update smeserver-support alone, then
expand-template /etc/yum.smerepos.d/sme-base.repo
And now you'll be able to update everything else
