Title: external IP not showing correctly in server-manager
Post by: rmoria on June 19, 2015, 05:19:34 PM
Last night I had an external IP adres change.

When I check my external ip adres in server-manager I see my old IP adres. When I run ifconfig in a terminal I get my new IP adres. What can I do to sync / troubleshoot

(sme 8.1, up to date)

if you're using a fixed ip, you'd login as admin in console and run "configure this server", then reboot

DON'T use ifconfig, or your changes will be lost

moreover, please read carefully the documentation: you'd learn how SME differs from other linux distro

No fixed IP. It's on DHCP.
I only use ifconfig to check. I have a site running that I can visit from my local network (domain is set to look-up-local) but from the outside I couldn't reach. That was my hint that my external IP had changed.

What template runs when the external IP changes?

if you get a new IP it should be reflected in server-manager.. sounds like a bug to me..
please open a bug in bugzilla, you will asked for info and steered in the right direction.

once you've done, please report here the reference to the bug, thank you
