Thanks

I fond this in that wiki: LinuxLinux clients can be distribution specific so it is hard to generalise. :-?

I think you will find that using a samba client in most linux distributions will wok.  Over the years I have moved from Debian/Ubuntu/Mint to Centos/Fedora with no problems as long as you make sure you have the CIFS package installed.

I also use Fedora on another machine. But I gues you do not understand me. Wat I mean to say is, if it possible to acces SME from another Linxclient with NFS for example.

I doubt that you can use NFS - all the shares on an smeserver are Samba, as they are designed to be accessible by Windows (and Apple) PCs.

Ubuntu, as any modern, desktop oriented Linux distro has everytthing built in out-of-the-box. You can browse network exactly like you can do this from a Windows box, just using the standard file browser. What problem do you have ?

Yes I can browse now on Ubuntu with the filemanager. But it was asking voor my username and password.
But it is solved now.

No, this page is about Linux client authentication against SME, not simply accessing samba shares from a linux client (for which there's nothing to do)
