Hi
I've the follow problem:
I use the SME V5.1.2 and the clients are Mac's based to OS 9.2.x.
When a client like to copy files to an ibay, the hole network is hang up and I have to restart this used Mac-Client and also the SME-Server.
I don't know if the problem is coming from the Mac or if the problem is coming from the Appletalk-Protocol from SME-Server.
Doe's somebody has the same problem?
Thanks for help.

A search shows no other recent like messages. There are some regarding corrupted files but none on unable-to-connect.
Have you checked your system logs for any messages as to what might be happening? Are non-Mac clients able to connect to this iBay? If you turn filesharing on are your Macs able to connect to each other? Is there a router between the Macs and the Server?

I've got a Mac and PC lab connecting and they don't hang up at all. Are your Mac's connecting via TCP/IP or AppleTalk? Do you see the little globe on the share when it mounts on the desktop?
You may want to reset the PRAM on the mac....(APPLE-OPTION-P_Key-R_Key).
Let it chime 3 times.
Also you may need to delete the preference folder out of the system folder....make sure you fix the TCP/IP settings because they will be changed to remote.
Hope this helps

Does your LAN driver happen to be TLAN (e.g Compaq Netelligent)? We've seen various adverse interactions between netatalk and the TLAN driver. The best fix seems to be a netatalk upgrade (there's a netatalk RPM in my contrib directory, although it may only work on 5.5, and even then you might need to move around the netatalk config files to get it to work correctly).
