Title: File changed on disk message whiole in editos (geany, bluefish, gedit)
Post by: brianr on October 21, 2015, 11:27:23 AM
I am running SME9 as a SMB server to my Fedora 22 desktop.

Much of the time I am editting files on the SME9 server using the SMB/Cifs mounted ibays.

I constantly get "File changed on disk" message when I click on the editor window or try to save the file. The dialogue in bluefish shows me that the mod time and size have not changed Idespite the message).

I am guessing that this is due to file locking in some way?  Perhaps not? Any ideas?

Brian, it seems to me (and you) more a samba conf/bluefish issue than a strictly SME related one..
did you search for solution/info elsewhere?

searching for "File changed on disk bluefish" gives me this one (and many more)

Hi Stefano

I did some googling, but you seem to have found something more relevant.  I've changed the parameter in Bluefish now and also found a similar one in Geany.

However the fact that these programs have to supress the checking is an indication that something is "not quite right", I still suspect it is an SMB parameter somewhere, which might benefit from control on the SME Server.  I'll try a bit harder!

Thanks for the heads up though..
