Title: SME as default gateway - problem
Post by: PlusPlus on December 01, 2015, 11:24:03 AM
Hi there,

i used the sme server only as a proxy. The default gateway was a router. Now i changed my dhcp configuration to use the sme server as default gateway.
After doing this, 2 (windows) program's have problems to connect to extern servers. In the first program, i could set connection mode to https and it works. In the second program there is no option like this.

Had somebody an idea? In which logfile can i see somethink like an error?

if httpd proxy is active, its default is to be in transparent mode, so your clients don't need any kind of modification..

are you sure your programs are trying to connect to an http server?

btw, /var/log/squid dir is a good point to start from

No, it's via httpS

It's very funny:

If i activate the proxy server in the internet setting of ms windows and use my old gateway  - working
If i activate the proxy server in the internet setting of ms windows and use the sme server as gateway  - not working (maybee timeout?)
If i deactivate the proxy server in the internet setting of ms windows and use the sme server as gateway  - working

first of all, evertything related to windows and M$ is quite obscure and black magic related :-)

did you already reboot the involved clients?
