Good Morning
I am interested in setting up a shared calendar.
I had considered using roundcube as there seems to be (old?, non SME) documentation on the internet.
I have an install of roundcube from a few months ago that has calendars, but they are not capable of being shared (as default install anyway) .
I noticed last week that the wiki page on roundcube had been updated, so tried the new install, only to find that in September the calendar plugin had been removed.
I am happy to try following instructions such as https://gitlab.com/kolab-roundcube-plugins/calendar but an thinking I may be wasting my time if it was necessary to remove the plugin.
So my questions are:
1/ Is it worth trying to install roundcube calendar?
2/ If yes, is there a better way than https://gitlab.com/kolab-roundcube-plugins/calendar?
3/ Is there a different shared calendar that is either better or easier to install.
Thank you.

There are some altenatives, e.g. Zarafa and Sogo. Both on the contribs.org wiki.
Re #1. You tell us by trying and reporting back

Well first attempt at #1 has broken login so will back off and take a look at Zarafa and Sogo.

Well, you're a bit vague on how you installed Roundcube, version, which instructions you followed etc. Did you read the SME Server manual and are you familiar with the templating system?

#3 Sogo looks like it may be worth a look.
#1 Sorry, yes I was way to vague. It is roundcube login that is broken, not SME. Roundcube install as per current wiki. Have read manual at times over last 5 years or so, but not recently dipped in. I know of the templating, but could do with being more familiar.
From what I have googled on roundcube I was not convinced that it was going to be a success with shared calendars (though I love it as a webmail package), which was one of the reasons for the post. Especially seeing that stephdl had removed the calendar plugin a couple of months ago.
The calendar instructions I followed were from https://gitlab.com/kolab-roundcube-plugins/calendar
In typing this up I have realised that I misunderstood one instruction, so it is not surprising that it failed!
But I've now got side tracked into looking at Sogo ...

Owncloud has a calendar module, as does Horde. I believe both of them will allow sharing calendars.

Roundcube is just a webmail...kolab is a groupware....but unfortunately they use a bleeding edge version of roundcube with a lot of changes inside. It is the main reason why i removed the calendar plugin.....like also i did for the carddav plugin.
I would suggest sogo for this purpose.
As a side note....rainloop looks pretty good and i use it mostly for its carddav plugin really good.

Thanks.
I took a quick look at Sogo this afternoon and it looks quite promising.
I had hoped to use Roundcube because I'm already familiar with it, but I suspected it wasn't going to happen when I found the plugin gone. It was a clear signal to be cautious.
