Title: error during file system check
Post by: Charly on August 25, 2002, 12:54:13 AM
Please help me !!

first time i have installed SME V5 version 5.5. After installation at the first reboot i get every time this message:

...
mounting USB filesystem                 ok
initialising USB controller                  ok
checking root filesystem

execvp: No such file or directory

                                                    failure

+++An error occured during the file system check
+++Dropping you to a shell; the system will
+++reboot when you leave the shell.
bash: root password is garbled
Give root password for maintenance
(or type Control-d for normal startup) _

i have installed on 2 different machines with the same result. Is it possible that the CD-Image is damaged?
What can i do.

Did you download the ISO image from here?

Did you  check that the MD5 checksum of what your downloaded agrees with the one in the same directory that you downloaded from?

If so try burning another CD, maybe that had a problem.

Cheers
Dave.

It's important to verify the md5sum of the file after download, and then to verify the md5sum of the burnt CD...
