Title: creating primary ibay files
Post by: robf355 on March 01, 2016, 12:14:31 PM
Hi all
Is there a way to allow creation of files in the primary ibay from a local windows machine via smb, I can view, edit and save existing files but if i try to copy a new file I get a 'Destination folder access denied error', I have tried connecting with username admin or root but neither will connect.

Regards
Rob

The short answer is No, al least not the way you are doing it.

I can copy & create folders in the /files subfolder of the Primary ibay.
If I try to copy a file directly to the /Primary folder, then I get the error message
"Destination Folder Access Denied"
.....so I suspect you are trying to copy a file to the wrong (unsupported) location.

You need to copy files to the /files folder under /Primary folder, that is the way sme server is configured to work.
There are 3 subfolders, cgi-bin, files and html, it is in those subfolders that you place files, depending on their usage.
For use with samba you would save data files into the .../Primary/files folder.
That is the way that sme server is designed.
All other ibays work similarly.
