Note: topic subject has been edited because ATM there's no SME 10 release, neither in Alpha version
-
there's no release date.. the only answer to your question is "when it will be ready"
-

Dear all,
please see https://wiki.contribs.org/Sme10BuildQueue#Bare_install_test
on how to test (on a VM). Your feedback on possible issues is highly
appreciated!
Thanks for pitching an hour or so. If 100 of us give it a spin, we have
100 testing hours in the current state....

Keep in mind that it is not a fully functional SME 10 server, it is more like a "proof of concept" to see if basic packages can be installed on top of CentOS 7.
There is much more work to be done before alpha & beta software releases can be made. I imagine a final release stable version of SME 10 may be a year away (or more), when comparing to previous software version release times.
Every test install you perform & provide feedback for, will help to get SME 10 released sooner rather than later.
If you report any problem you have (& you will likely have many), developers can start looking at those issues & fixing them one by one.

thanks very much janet. that means to be success with the link you sent me, i have to install centos 7 first?

Ok got it. thanks

It would be beneficial to us if one takes 1 service at a time and analyses what works, what not and what the differences are and what needs to be adjusted/done to get the service running. Maybe you want to take a look at SSH for example.
New bug entries per service will appear shortly, where you can add your feedback.

When is Sme Server 10 is releasing to public use?
The more people help, the faster it will get done. It is a massive project and developers are few.
Many hands make light work....

i installed the sme server 10 using your help link. everything ok so far. I want to know that the WebGUI is not yet available?
https://localhost/server-manager/

Please follow the bug tracker which holds the latest developments. For an dashboard overview see https://wiki.contribs.org/Dashboard#tab=SME_Server_10_Alpha
-
server-manager isn't working yet. We need to find an alternative to perl-suid, see https://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9393

ok. thanks for the information

This is not a usable SME server that you can put into production or even a test/production environment.
There will be many things that do not work & are missing.
The only reason you would install this now is to test & see what is broken & provide feedback in bugzilla.
This is a stepping stone to developing a working (functional) sme10 server & sorting out all the differences between this & prior versions, & what coding changes need to be made in order to get correct functionality.
As I said earlier
"Keep in mind that it is not a fully functional SME 10 server, it is more like a "proof of concept" to see if basic packages can be installed on top of CentOS 7. There is much more work to be done before alpha & beta software releases can be made."
& also the words of Jean-Philippe Pialasse
"The current SME 10 is able to boot issue basic SME command, but there is
still a lot to do to have a full working SME. As a start integrate with
systemd or with grub2."
& also these words from the sme10 test page link
"we need now to test every base packages and functionality.
Ahead we can think big blocking: - perl-suid need to be replaced - -> systemd - grub -> grub2 - "
So please do not think this is a functioning sme server that you can hook up to your network & expect to see mail flowing etc etc etc.

@all, please note of the above notice. We are no where ready to put SME Server 10 into any state. It's heavily under development.
Not even alpha
Not even Beta
Only testing every small details for now.
