This is a critical issue for us, since we are required to accept digitally signed email messages, even though no special configuration has been made on Horde itself on how to verify these. Digitally signed (S/MIME/PGP) messages are shown in the message list, but when selected for display, the message panel and top toolbar go blank. The left toolbar is displayed.
When we started receiving these a year ago (on SME 8 at the time), we did not have any issues at all. I am using thunderbird myself so I never had any problems and still don't.
Sending the same messages to a SME 8.2 server does not present any problems, the messages are displayed just fine there.
Felt it might be a misconfiguration issue, due also to the fact that the system was configured using a 8.2 backup. If you feel I should open a bug report for it, I'll do it asap.
In the meantime, it seems that these empty pages are HTTP 500 server pages. From /var/log/messages I do not see anything fishy. OTOH, /var/log/httpd/access_log has the following lines each time one tries to view the digitally signed mail message:
