Hello
Can anyone please advise if Mitel has any intentions on creating a blade for 5.1.2 to go up to 5.5 and higher. An answer would be really appreciated as we need some direction to move forward....
TIA Greg

I can't speak for Mitel, but I'm pretty sure the answer is "no".

Don't expect a blade for that - but you can download the ISO of 5.5 and upgrade.
As for the security updates, they may do a blade at some point, but it's really easy to apply the fixes manually - it took me about 5 minutes to do on a DSL line, and that includes the reboot.

No, we are not currently creating blades that perform an upgrade
from a previous version to a current version. Upgrades are only
available via CD.

Thank you for the reply Dan
The reason why I inquired about the blade is I have tried a few test runs on upgrading from 5.1.2 to 5.5 (using the 5.5 CD) and we get errors every time. So we have some concerns etc. Errors from the sysmon can't create rdds (from memory) are we using the wrong upgrade image or something???
TIA

5.5 upgrades fine over 5.1.2. We can't guarantee, of course, that 5.5 with upgrade fine over 5.1.2 plus other stuff.

No, you have extras installed, and those extras have problems with 5.5 or the 5.5 upgrade process. Whether you upgraded from CD or upgraded via a blade you would likely have the same problems.
I think it unlikely that we will support version to version upgraded via a network install unless RedHat first develops the base technology.

Thanks for the comment Charlie
The errors we encountered were on a clean install of 5.1.2 upgraded to 5.5. Nothing else had been installed? We have done this 3 times with errors on every install. The 5.1.2 runs A1. It's only the uprade that has the problems.
TIA

[I take it you are telling me, and not asking me, despite the question mark.]
Sorry for my mistake. The errors you mentioned don't resemble anything I associate with the standard product, but "sysmon" is a popular contributed add-on package, and it does use a rrdt database.

We hope that all suspected bugs will be reported in detail to bugs@e-smith.com.
That said, I don't recall any reports of upgrade problems similar to your report. And as I said before, I don't think it likely that a network upgrade would be any more trouble free than an upgrade from CDROM - the opposite is more likely to be the case.

The question is:
Why do you have to upgrade to 5.5 from 5.1.2,
when you can just install the 5.5 directly?
