I'm trying to install a sme9.1 machine (on a virtualbox server Ubuntu host as needed raid 10) to replace an 8.1 machine used purely as backup using affa
Ive removed the 8.1 machine which was running fine but on trying to install 9.1 it has an error about GPT on non EFI machines.
It then wont boot as it fails to find anything to boot from.
If enabling EFI in the virtualbox I get a GUI install menu (not the usual text one I know) and it has automatic partioning errors.
I don't get the choice to use the text installer or not?
What am I doing wrong?

could you tell us more about the specs of the host machine and the guest one?
-
Host is an i7 3770 with 32Gb and a 6 drive raid 10 (7200)
Host is running Ubuntu 64 bit and guest is a sme 9.1 64 bit. 4 gig of ram and 2 TB single drive
I have run pre 9.1 on this setup before no issues and have never seen the gpt warning before (I assume its something to remove the 2tb limit on install?)

can you post here some pics with what you see?

Please disabile EFI and post here the message about GPT

on disabling efi after a successful text based install I get

Well, I'd create a small disk and install SME on it, then add a big one and mount it where needed
See the wiki

you may want to delete this
On doing the same thing for the 4th time it hasn't happened
Its worked spot on as usual
Why did I get the gui on install?
