Title: Updating from 4.1.2 to 5.5
Post by: brad wright on August 30, 2002, 05:38:01 AM
Hi all, I am seriously considering doing the upgrade to SME 5.5 from 4.1.2.

I'd like to know if anyone had any problems (eg data loss, loss of mySQL permisions table, any opther mySQL DB's etc)....

I guess the question is.. 'is the upgrade fairly painless'?

Interested to hear your experiances.

Thanks in advance,

Brad

Hi Brad,
I recently took the plunge and upgraded 4.1.2 to 5.5
I had to detour via 5.2.1 to start with, but eventually it all worked out. The only problem I had was Webmail, but I just reloaded over the top again and it worked.
I have about 14gig of user data, and it went in no problems..
Hope this helps,
Karl
