Good evening,
I would like to get a encrypted shared folder according to the http://wiki.contribs.org/SharedFolders#Encryption (http://wiki.contribs.org/SharedFolders#Encryption)
The epel repo is installed but unfortunately the rpm "fuse-encfs" can't be found on it! :sad:
I tried to find it on other repos but without success.
=> what should I do?
Thanks.

the rpm is available on this repo http://mirrors.sohu.com/fedora-epel/6/x86_64/ (http://mirrors.sohu.com/fedora-epel/6/x86_64/) ,
but not on this one http://ftp.uni-kl.de/pub/linux/fedora-epel/6/x86_64/ (http://ftp.uni-kl.de/pub/linux/fedora-epel/6/x86_64/)
:shock:

thanks Stefano,
but the link to the rpm seems to be dead too: "550 /mirror/fedora.redhat.com/epel/6/x86_64/fuse-encfs-1.7.4-1.el6.x86_64.rpm: No such file or directory"
If the rpm isn't available in epel repo anymore, we should put a "backup" of it somewhere into the contribs repo IMHO.
I have installed the rpm (after a manual download) from the repo I gave in the previous post with "yum localinstall fuse-encfs....... --enablerepo=epel" because of others dependencies.

You'd file a bug against the contrib
-
you should FIRST file a bug against EPEL as they still provide the rpm for centos 7 so it would be easy for them to just built it for centos 6 too AGAIN.

Hi,
here is the bug report against epel: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1398962
=> wait & see.....
-
so we have at least one old version available in EPEL buildsys, can you try it manually, if it is working I could try ti import it in smecontribs repo for next users.

it is in process.
The version that I found is older but seems to work => I 'll try this one and report.
-
tested: the rpm seems to work: on my VM, the encrypt function works: when "protected" than the datas are not available, when "enabled" then thy are available again.
=> IMHO we should use this rpm as long as no recent one not present.
