hi there, welcome
which is the IP address of your GW?
please, be aware that SME8.X will be in EOL status in few months, so it's time to start planning upgrade to SME9
-
GW=192.168.1.1 for sme....
-
are both SME and the GW in the same VLAN?
-
sme server IP is 192.168.1.42 and its gateway is 192.168.1.1
-
well, this is the same subnet, you were talking about VLANS in your first post..
so, now, we know that SME and its GW are in the same subnet.. are them in the same VLAN too (if applicable)?
please, be "verbose", remembering that no one can see what you see nor know anything about your setup
thank you

VLAN1- 192.168.1.1 - servers
VLAN2- 192.168.2.1 - LAN users
VLAN3- 192.168.0.1 - Wifi users.
No communication to sme server happening for LAN and Wifi users.How to rectify sme settings and what to do with that error I sent as attachment.

VLAN1- 192.168.1.1 - servers
VLAN2- 192.168.2.1 - LAN users
VLAN3- 192.168.0.1 - Wifi users
these are subnets.. can you give us their subnet masks?
can you give more details about your environment? are VLANS (cfr https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_LAN) used in your lan? if so, are SME and its GW in the same VLAN? did you enable interouting among VLANS?
are you able to ping the GW from another client in the same SME's subnet?

we already know your issue, we don't know anything else.. without info, the only suggestion I can give you is to reset your lan exaclty as it was in the past.
-
sme and GW is in the same VLAN
Inter routing is enabled in VLANs
ping is working to the GW from another client.
We can access(RDP,SSH,PING) any server from LAN and Wifi.
-
ok..
did you try to reboot SME? did you change anything else? was the GW's IP the same?
-
SME is designed to only communicate with its own local subnetwork .
this mean by default, you SME will only allow SSH, samba access and most mail access and most services on 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0 . Only exception could be for http not pointing to server-manager,
all requests from 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0 and 192.168.2.1/255.255.255.0 will hence be rejected untill you go to your server manager and add in local network these two networks.
However I question the purpose of separating into 3 different networks. Do they all need to have the same acces ?
- if yes there is no point in creating vlans. You should have only extend your subnet 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0 to 192.168.0.1/255.255.0.0
- If no, then you might not want to add these networks to local truted network of SME....

PS: it is time to move to SME9

JP,
When I am trying to add other 2 n/w s to the network option in sme ,its showing error,Is there any other way to add these..

You need to read and understand the error message, and fix whatever is wrong. What exactly is the error which is "showing"?
-
Cannot contact router
-
Please, tell us exactly what network you're trying to add. Your SME Server (most likely in serveronly mode) has IP 192.168.1.42. I guess its netmask is 255.255.255.0, and its default gateway is 192.168.1.1. Now, you try to add which network, with which netmask, and which gateway ? From the error you've posted, it looks like you have not used a gateway that SME can't reach (outside of the 192.168.1.0/24 network)
-
==========================
Network-192.168.0.0
Netmask-255.255.255.0
Router-192.168.0.1
==========================
Network-192.168.2.0
Netmask-255.255.255.0
Router-192.168.2.1
==========================
Tried to add this,Though it might work.
It doesn't.

No, it can't work with these settings. The gateway to reach those networks must be in the 192.168.1.0/24 network for SME to be able to reach it. So, in the 192.168.1.0/24 network, which one is the router able to reach 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.2.0/24 ?

Cannot contact router
That's not what it says. It says "router address is not accessible from the local network". See Daniel's answer, and then some basic documentation on IP network routing. See, for example:
