Hi all,
Are there any user connecting a synology NAS to the SME server ?
I did that in the past and it worked well but it seems not to work anymore.
On a fresh installed SME 9.1 and a fresh installed Synology DS216 II+, when I try to join the domain (where my SME is PDC) I have the following message :
"impossible to join the windows domain" and I get an error message in SME samba logs :
_netr_ServerAuthenticate2: failed to get machine password for account NAS3$: NT_STATUS_NONE_MAPPED
[2016/12/26 18:00:25.527497, 0] rpc_server/netlogon/srv_netlog_nt.c:954(_netr_ServerAuthenticate3)
Where NAS3 is the name of my synology NAS
I found in the forum than this could help to connect a linux machine to the SME :
#signal-event machine-account-create NAS3$
#smbpasswd -a -m NAS3
If I type this, I'm apparently able to join the domain, but impossible to see users and groups in the NAS, they remain empty and no log in the SME server.
Any idea ? I already spent days on that problem without solving it !
Thks in advance
Alain

Be aware SME is a NT4 style DC, not an AD one
Check if your NAS supports it

I know but I'm sure it's not a problem.
1st because in the past, before my SME crashed and I had to reinstall it, the NAS was connected to the domain
2nd : when connected the NAS indicates what kind of domain it is : NT4 or AD, and it does accept both

I don't know if this is relevant, but here's a note on setting up a synology NAS to connect to SME using ldap:
