Has anyone tried a fresh install of SME 10a2 then attempted a restore from a sme9.1 workstation backup?
I tried this and it appeared to go fine but then something crapped out and upon reboot the reboot does not complete, the bars progress and once the white bars are complete it just sits there.
Any ideas or should I just start from scratch again?

please log your experiences in the bug tracker. That way the devs can take a look. Please include log files. TIA

It might be too early in the development stage to expect a restore to work on an alpha release.
Anyway posting a bug report is the correct thing to do, so that backup & restore does work correctly sometime in the future.
SME 10alpha is still in development so nothing is really guaranteed to work correctly at this stage, the releases are really for testing & debugging.

Thanks for the reply .... I realize it is just for testing and that is what I'm trying to do.
I just wanted to populate with a few more users so thought why not try a restore from my 9x server data.
No big deal, I will continue to test and it is a virtual machine so recreating is easy to do.

I know Stephane was working on this last year, and some errors were stoping the restore and the backup from completing. You might find this in the bugtracker.

Thanks again I will check that out.
I did a manual copy over of the user mail accounts and it seems to have populated fine as well as the shadows file,etc.
I also copied over the websites in the ibays and so far everything seems to work fine.
Had to be pretty selective in what to copy over but I have all my users and groups now and the websites working.
Mysql is a bit different and had to figure out the it is a new service call mariadb for when you want to access from the network the db command is slightly different.
All in all I'm impressed with the new Horde as well as it offers many more features.
Can't wait till it goes to a final stage of SME 10.

While you have installed a test server, it would really help us if you can have a look to the resolved bug in order to confirm they are.
