Title: Raid1 in VM (Virtualbox - VDI)
Post by: chaos_sme on February 03, 2017, 05:50:34 PM
Hello Everyone,

i have a SME Server 9.x on a VM in Virtualbox. The HDD was a 20GB VDI, now i need more space but during the installation I selected Raid1 accidentally. Now I have extended the VDI over Windows but in the SME server it is still 20GB large. How can I resolve the RAID without data loss?

No normal SME backup ???

If nothing else, get one, build a VM with a bigger drive and then restore from backup. Save yourself a lot of pain.... ;-)

Iam a total Noob at SME Server ... My colleague has set up this server and is also busy with it. Now he was fired and I had to repair this customer server. If you would be so kind as to tell me how I'm doing a SME Backup? And are there really all data included? Like mails and so on?

"I am a total Noob at SME Server ..."

Scroll to top of Forums, there are many links there to Wiki, Manual, Howtos, FAQ etc.

'Those links will provide a wealth of knowledge for you.
Pretty easy & quick to find the section of the manual about Backup.
You can go to server manager, configure the backup, connect a USB drive & overnight an automatic backup will be performed, with daily incremental backups thereafter, so easy !

Read this for one write up about the concepts of backup & restore etc.
