Hi,
I need some help in debugging this error messages please:
deferral: Connected_to_xx.xx.xx.xx_but_greeting_failed./Remote_host_said:_421_#4.4.5_Too_many_connections_from_your_host./
SME9.1 + Nextcloud
user1@localdomain mail forwarded to user1@remotedomain
xx.xx.xx.xx = remotedomain mailserver
Nextcloud is sending a notification to user1@localdomain but the mail is only received by user1@remotedomain after many, many hours
TIA

Your server has too many connections at the same time to xx.xx.xx.xx, most likely a burst of email delivery. You can try to reduce concurrency limit to mitigate this
-
Thanks. Will give that a try, but it is a very low email volume. Nextcloud is sending out 5 messages (notifications) to 5 different people locally which are forwarded to an external domain..

Some server have a very low concurrency limit. You can try my AltQmail contrib which I've done especially for those cases: with it, you can have a second qmail instance with a very low concurrency limit just for those domains handled by servers with a low limit. With the main qmail keeping its default concurrency limit of 20. See https://wiki.contribs.org/AltQmail

Thank you for the swift advise and contrib!

Daniel,
the how-to says: Not yet for SME9
-
The page is outdated, it's working on SME9 now, both i386 and x86_64

Thanks.

free.fr had a limit of 1 simultaneous connection and only 5 or less per minutes if I remember well... to say it can be very low !
-
Hello,
For free.fr, I believe it is 2 simultaneous.
Bye.
