Will SME10 partition disks using GPT on fresh install?
I have some unused disk space I would like to access on my 3Tb disks.
Of course, I expect that I will need to backup and restore, rather than upgrade.
Thanks

Sme 10 is based on centos 7, based on rhel 7.

SME install options are specified in the Anaconda script - I know that Centos7 can install GPT partitions if selected.
The question is whether the SME10 installer will also do so automatically.

If you have a look at the SME 10 alpha ISO, we currently use a kick start script to make a base partitioning, but you have access to the GUI installer as default installation, and you can play with the partitioning tool.
I can only suggest you to test and report.

I'd add that the graphical installation is also available for SME9. Even if I have not tested, it can probably manage > 2TB disks (I have never tested though, as I always use small disk for the base system, and then add larger disks for the data, mounted on /home/e-smith/files)

So I discovered that VMWare Workstation 12 supports UEFI boot and I created VM with a 3Tb virtual disk (thank goodness for sparse vmdk files).
Looks like it works. Just crossing my fingers that my 2012 era motherboard has a suitable bios.
