I just want to report that it is possible - and not too difficult - to use SME as a printer server for Google Cloud Print. In this way, you can share the SME's printer(s) with users with a Google account, allowing them to print directly from Google Docs etc.
Here is a brief outline:
- Get CUPS and Avahi up running. See https://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=51776.0
- Install the Go programming language and git: $ yum install golang git
- Follow the guidelines at https://github.com/google/cloud-print-connector/wiki/Build-from-source: $ go get github.com/google/cloud-print-connector/...
- Run the connector: https://github.com/google/cloud-print-connector/wiki/Install#run-the-cups-connector
My own experience is that the connector works very well - no problems so far ... It is easy and convenient for users, working in Chrome and Google Docs.
