I'm hitting a wall where I need to have multicast functionality on our network. We have an SME Server box acting as the primary gateway / router for our subnet and we have a wireless router that's just acting as a dumb network bridge for wireless devices in the office. I've outlined the issue here (https://serverfault.com/questions/873391/what-does-having-a-network-that-would-allow-a-multicast-address-to-find-host-com) and would appreciate any thoughts or insights you might have on the issue if it could be a problem with the SME Server config blocking multicast functionality.

Are your wired clients on the same IP subnet as the wired systems?
I wanted to make a couple "airprint" printers available to visitors on my 'guest' network last year, and learned in the process that multicast / mDNS traffic does not move from one network (broadcast domain) to another.

Yes, both wired and wireless systems are all on the same subnet.

So I found that the issue was the wireless router. All multicast traffic tests passed on through the SME Server and switches just fine. Ended up having to move to a DD-WRT device instead with more control and freedom in this area.
