Hi all,
I know this question has been asked... but I can't seem to find a suitable solution.
During install I configured it so that my dynamic IP is updated at dyndns.org
It really dosen't work for me.
Also, isn't there a way to specify the host or is it supposed to update all the hosts in the account.
Should I be using a 3rd party script?
Thanks.

Pat,
It should work. Have you keyed your user name and password that you have at DYNDNS.ORG into the configuration settings on your SME box. I've gone from 4.1 to 5.0 to 5.5 and it works for me as long as I have keyed the right user name and password in the SME config settings.
I did have my password wrong at one stage and 35 odd days later I got this EMail from dyndns.org saying it was about to expire. So thought it worthwhile to mention.

Hi,
does my hostname have to be the same that is registered as a dynamic dns host?

Ok,
here is the error I'm getting in the /var/log/messages
"local.lan does not exist on the dyndns.org system"
local.lan and is what I called my LAN domain.
Why is it looking up the domain name... and not just the hostname?
