Title: Largest Disk
Post by: Drifting on March 20, 2018, 01:18:58 PM
Please don't jump all over me for being lazy, I am just so short of time at the moment. Can some tell me what the maximum size disk that can be used with SME? Seemed to recall it was restricted to 2TB, is that still the case?
Did have a quick search in the Wiki and docs, but murder trying to read it on a phone.

Regards Paul

I think it'll hinge on your drive controller and the RHEL supported hardware list.

Start here I guess.

A quick search of tje interwebs:

https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1532

Seems

Individual file size:

Ext2/3 2Tb
Ext4 16Tb

File system size (which probably defines your disk limits)

Ext2/3/4 16Tb

Thanks for that. Did not remember being given the choice in format on the install of SME? Mind you has been a while. Will have a tinker.

Thanks again
Paul.

You are right, the fs is set by default. You can however use a different if you add additional drives and mount them in place of ibays per instance.

With sme10 you will be able to choose your format at install.
