I need some help choosing the wright language settings for my keyboard. I need 'Azerty' for Dutch speeking Belgium. My installation is fully running, so I need to change it in the configs. Can anybody help me with this? I'm not used to linux!

hi, welcome here
you have to edit (carefully) the file /etc/sysconfig/keyboard.
Mine is like it:
KEYTABLE="it"
MODEL="pc105"
LAYOUT="it"
KEYBOARDTYPE="pc"
find the right values for yours

I suggest you to use nano as editor, not vi

Okay, I've tried nl, and fr-latin1, but none of them give me the ability to type brackets [ ]. Any ideas please?

Okay, let me explain... I have an Azerty keyboard for Dutch speaking Belgium and a fully running smeserver on a virtual machine, now with keyboard nl. (I also tried fr-latin1 and be-latin1.) I can type in Azerty when I choose 'nl', but the brackets don't work and I need them for the template to add the userhomes to my admin. The verry weird thing is that I have two installations quiet similar, but on the first I've choosen 'be-latin1' during the installation, the other one 'nl'. Now they are both on 'nl', I open them in virtualization station on the same windowsmachine and the first one won't type brackets, the second one will!

Okay, I'm lost here... the reason why I asked where I could change te language settings is because I'm quiet used to type in qwerty on an azertykeyboard. It didn't bother me until I needed those brackets. When I saw te file, it hit me to also check these settings on my other 9.2 smeserver. Yes, I use a virtual machine to run smeserver, but I don't see what that has to do with supported or not supported versions. No, I'm not used to work in linux, that is why I ask for help! So if anybody knows why I can not type brackets on the installation that I changed from 'be-latin1' to 'nl' and can type them on the installation where I've choosen 'nl' at setup, please let me know... All I just need are those damned brackets [].

Like we have said, you presented a classic XY issue.
Read the link Stefano gave.
Your SME is most likely happy with your keyboard settings.
The issue is probably your hypervisor not sending the correct keys to SME.
If you had explained fully in the first place it would have made things easier to understand, and to look at the correct solution.
First tell us what the hypervisor software is, and go back and look at your hypervisor keyboard settings for your VM.
