Title: Gigabit ethernet adaptor support
Post by: Bruce Roberts on September 11, 2002, 08:17:28 AM
Can anybody inform me if SME Server 5.5 supports any gigabit ethernet adaptors? I know the supported adaptors are listed in the documentation but it assumes you know a multitude of makes and models and their inherit specs. Any makes and model people have success with would be appreciated.

Some users were working on it, but I don't think any are supported out-of-the-box.

If the drivers exist for Linux the the method of getting old ISA NICs to work may apply. Basically set anything to start with then edit the config database to point at the right drivers.

More detail if you try searching on 3com 509.

Cheers
Dave.
