Title: FTP access to ibay
Post by: alanh on March 21, 2019, 04:17:12 AM
I have a need to have folder of files publicly visible so our eCommerce system can get these files for our products. They need to access via http/https - I know that other ftp providers can set up an anonymous user that can access the files via this method - I have tried the ftp setup in sme server 9.2, but not having any luck at all.  Any help appreciated.

Place the files in the /html folder of the ibay (ie the html folder automatically created by sme server), & make sure to remove/delete the index.htm file.
This will give public access as long as you have enabled the ibay to have public/external access in server manager.

You can password protect this ibay if required.

As per Janet.

Assuming they just need to be read put them in their own https password protected ibay. Better than messing with ftp.

You ask for http/https access & ftp access. Which do you want ?
Read this for ftp which is somewhat more complex & has quite specific setup requirements for SME server & external ftp client.
