Title: Accessing SSL
Post by: Chad Files on September 11, 2002, 05:09:24 PM
I have managed to get a VeriSign SSL Certificate installed on our company website. The only problem is that I cannot access https:// in the outside world.

On the intranet I have no problems going under the SSL, it is just outside of the office.

I have worked with Apache for 5 years but this is my first experience with E-Smith, please help.

Chad, are you running the SME Server in gateway mode or Server only mode?? If you are running it in Server only mode you must port forward port 443 https to your Server running SME. If you are running SME in Gateway mode you must open the port 443 https to allow open connections to the port. If that has already been done make sure your browser has high encryption.

Hope that helps, Jason

Thanks Jason,

The server is running in gateway mode. I have changed some of the configuration files and I cannot find where to open the port. So needless to say it is still not working? Please Help
