Title: www services not working for the internet
Post by: My Zus on September 13, 2002, 02:07:52 AM
hi,

I am not able to access my primary web site from the internet. Although i am able to access it from the local lan. Also i have set the email to public. But i am not able to access the webmail from the internet. I guess none of my www services are working. When i try ipchains -L i do not see packets on port 80 accepted. Do i have to use blades for this? Also in my hostname and address pannel, in www and mail the public globally option is not selected. I didnt do it cuz i dont have blades. Help me

Thankx in advance
Zus

Perhaps your ISP is blocking TCP 80 incoming, many ISPs do this to discourage personal webservers.

Hope this helped,
Nathan

thankx for ur mail. I talked with my ISP but they are not blocking port 80. Again when i do ipchains -L i do not see port 80 packets accepted. As e-smith has deny all rule so i guess my packets on port 80 are denied. I am confused. help :(
