Title: phpBB2 on SME5.5
Post by: Paul Sahlin on September 13, 2002, 12:14:47 PM
Hi!

I have recently installed the SME Server v.5.5 and I'm trying all kinds of
modules. I succesfully installed Postnuke, got my Webmail up and so forth.

Now I tried the Dan Brown HOW-TO phpBB2 install-guide, but when I get
to the part where I'm supposed to surf in to http://yoursite/phpBB2 the
browser treats the file as a binaryfile to download.

What can be wrong? I would be more than happy with the phpBB2 running.

Regards, Paul

Thanks for your reply.

I solved the problem by deleting everything and redoing the whole procedure.
The problem? I forgot to add a > to the last command in the script that allows
php in the phpBB2/primary site.

So --> always follow the instructions by extreme precision. If it doesn't work, delete everything (databases as well) and start all over again.

Regards, Paul

No, it shouldn't be restricted to https only.  Minor typos can always cause problems, though.
