Title: SME Sever-Manager isn't accepting root password
Post by: Geister on June 15, 2021, 11:44:43 PM
This is a fresh install
at the terminal I can use root/password no issues
thru SSH I can use root/password no issues

but when I goto http://mydomain.com/server-manager and enter the EXACT same info I do for
terminal and ssh I keep getting "invalid user name or password"

what is going on here????

just fresh install or update from sme9 using console restore ?

are you aware that root can bot login to manager and you have to login as admin with same password

This is a fresh install brand new

I figure this works like webmin which uses root.
I never set an admin password, the setup only had me set root password
not to worry about root bots because I block in the DMZ remote access from untrusted NIC.

Just to repeat:
are you aware that root can not login to manager and you have to login as admin with same password

Console : use root and root password
Manager: use admin and root password.

Good luck
Ian
