Title: Remote administration of primary web site?
Post by: Jesper Holck on September 19, 2002, 01:12:42 AM
I want to set up my e-smith server so that a person, who is not on the local network, can take care of the primary web site - i.e. add and delete files, preferably with scp (secure copy). I've done some searching in these forums and on the web, but not found any "recommended way" to do this. The critical questions are, I think, related to access rights, group memberships etc.
Surely many others have dealt with this?

at the bottom of
http://www.dungog.net/sme/products/backup.php

i mention setting up ssh keys and using scp
to copy to the primary i guess you would have to use root
maybe you could use rsync, depends on your setup
