Title: Delay modem answer

Does anybody know how to make the modem on an E-Smith dialin server, wait 6 rings before answering.

You have to send it a specific AT code which you will probably be able to get from your modem manufacturers website, or you could RTFM of course, or go to this page http://www.uic.edu/depts/accc/network/dialin/modem_resource.html where will find your answer .

Jan,

Once I was using a www.freesco.org as a router & dial-in server,
and theres that feature there.  If u run setup it will ask u how many rings do u want before the modem answers.  FYI  FreeSco fits in a floppy so it  wont take much if u try and run it and hack the configs to find out.  Of course it wont hurt if you ask in their forums too.  And if u got it working please drop us a message here.
