Title: LDAP integration
Post by: Ted on April 24, 2000, 07:51:09 AM
Help?

I would like to use esmith to setup a system and control dns, email (sendmail and qmail with forwarders), www (NS and Apache) directly with LDAP as the config info source.

It sounds like you should join the e-smith developers mailing list. I think that there is still a lot that can be done with LDAP integration with the e-smith system, but you'd have to argue the pros and cons of moving the existing configuration information from a simple flat file into LDAP. Unless there are real benefits it shouldn't be done - there's still plenty of other stuff that needs developers' attention!

there are some things like vpn (free/SWAN) connections that could be configured with LDAP. so connection from internet to e-smith server and then you have access rights taken from LDAP (profile).
