I can map a network drive from Windows or connect by going to \\192.168.100.150, however I can't connect from my GNU/Linux system. I thought it would be ease to connect to a share, What can I try. :-?
Thanks, Jamie
PS I feel like such a noob. :???:

what version of SME and what flavor and version of GNU/Linux?

I'm running SME 9.2 and LinuxMint 20.1.

I'm running SME 9.2 and LinuxMint 20.1.
Time to upgrade your server.
You are way out of date.
On v10 the smeserver-wsdd contrib may assist browsing.

modern linux won’t support the samba protocol offered in SME as it has become insecure, you should indeed upgrade to use protocol SMB 2 or 3

I installed SME 10.1, I'll try to connect again. Does SME 10.1 have SMB 2 or 3 installed?
Thanks 8-)

it does have samba installed and it does default to SMB3 protocol

I can't connect from Windows, On Windows I get
"An error occurred while reconnecting Z: to \\mediaserver\media.
Microsoft Windows Network : No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time because there are already as many connections as the computer can accept.
The connection has not been restored"
There are no other connections to this server, I'm the only one using it. I even get the error after rebooting the server.
I'm moving away from Windows, I'm running Win XP. On GNU/Linux when I click on the computer ->Network the server isn't listed.
I'm running SME 10.1 now.

nothing new there you could not find in other posts on the forum or anywhere on the internet.
windows XP is not supported for years. It can not handle most recent SMB2 and SMB3 protocol.
as mentioned ealier by Reetp you will need the contrib smeserver-wsd to be able to list the server from clients with ease. While listing it is not necessary to connect to it. there are plenty of ways from linux. One of them is autofs. You can even check from the wiki for sssd and autofs to be able auth your user against SME and to have all your shares mounted on demand for any user existing on the server from your computer.

I'm running Win XP.
Please don't do that. XP is seriously out of date - even worse than v9.x
And you cannot connect by default from XP to Koozali SME because XP doesn't have SMB 3.
On GNU/Linux when I click on the computer ->Network the server isn't listed.
Better referring to the particular flavour of Linux - in your case Mint - as there are many differences.
As far as browsing I think Nemo uses avahi for discovery and doesn't see Koozali SME when browsing.
You can can correct direct with "Connect to server" with the right settings (I just tested on mine)
Server: Server name
Type: Windows share
Share : share/ibay name
User Name: your user
Password: you password
That will connect.
Or if you have many clients then automate as JP suggested (FWIW we use SSSD from via the wiki page)
