Title: SME Box Doesn't Honor .htaccess?
Post by: Jim Hale on September 21, 2002, 07:59:55 PM
I'm trying to protect some folders on the machine (like phpMyAdmin and such). Created the .htpasswd and .htaccess files the way I always have on websites before, but I can still bring up the pages without any request for a password.

Is there an additional module I need to add to the system?

Thanks!

Please try searching before posting; this question has been answered many times before.

I tried a search for .htaccess and came up with zilch. I'll try something else. :)

I checked that link and it's just another person that has the same problem - which brings up another question - how come when I did a search for .htaccess, THAT message didn't show up in the search?

Wouldn't you think it would and MAYBE that's why I can't find a solution doing a search?

Sounds like somebody forgot to set "all dates" on the search form.
