Title: Read ISP mail directly
Post by: Jorge on September 24, 2002, 06:58:01 PM
I have a adsl connection have decided to try e-smith server to make my proxy at home (private server-gateway). The proxy works fine, but and i need to read my isp mail directly. I have configured ip of the e-smith server as gateway but the outlook express don't read the mail. It's sends the message he can't find the mail server in this case (mail.telepac.pt).

Where can you configure DNS in SME? I have the same issue going on here. I can ping the mail server using the IP, but the name won't resolve.

Thanks! :)

Login as admin to get to the console and follow the steps under "Configure this server" until u reach the DNS section, u'll be asked for the DNS server, ask at ur ISP for the ipaddress and enter it there. that's all

Cheers
