Title: Web Mail
Post by: Theo on September 24, 2002, 09:59:00 PM
I got web  mail working fine on my local, but trying from school I get access denied. Any ideas? Probably something real simple I overlooked. School has win2000, IE has ssl available. Is it something about going via school proxy?

MAYBE your ISP is blocking port 80?

Or maybe you´re forgetting to add an extra / at end of /webmail/

Can you access your primary page?

Also try to use https:ip_or_host/webmail/

This is a tip: When ISP block port 80, sometimes they forgot to block https (443)!

no-ISP doesnt block 80-I can see my web pages just fine. And when I type url http://www.myip.com/webmail/ I get the message asking to click for ssl. HGowever when I click it I get denied access. Wierd thing is, like I said, I got it working on local just fine with same username and pw....? I'll try again tomorrow-maybe I screwed something up typing, even though I tried 3 times.
ohh...do I need to open port 443 in MY firewall???  I bet thats it. Did I miss that in the docs or did they wrongly assume I would know that?
