Title: FRee alternatives to dns2go
Post by: Scott Lewis on September 26, 2002, 12:15:57 PM: Been using DNS2GO as have a dynamic ip address but DNS2go is not free anymore. Any similar dns suppliers that are free and will need one that has a client that runs under E-smith server, so a how to would also be welcome.

I´m thinking about it because I own three top level domains. And to move them to dyndns (a great service I use to my clients) I should to pay US$ 30 for each of them!

I´m using SME as a server only, so I don´t pass by that screen about dyndns. Should I to be able to use DynDNS anyway? I presume it´s just a matter of enable a line on rc.d or something like that. Could you please guide me or point some docs to do that?

I run IPCop as my gateway box and it has built on updating for several Dynamic DNS services - including www.dyndns.org and www.no-ip.com.

I downloaded the same client I use with DynDns = DDCLIENT . It´s easy to setup and very reliable.

I was thinking about to use the internal client... but apparently it just work in server-gateway mode. Isn´t?
