Title: Can't boot after 5.5 update2
Post by: Bill on September 26, 2002, 09:50:04 PM
I'm new to SME and have loaded 5.5 on a machine with one SCSI drive. I did update 1 via the blades utility and all seemed fine. I then did update2 manually via the instructions provided on the web site. All seemed to go OK, I didn't recieve any error messages, however I could no longer boot up after the update. It hangs at the
"enabling swap space" routine. I am able to boot if I select "e-smith up" instead of the default "e-smith" at the GUI splash screen. I guess my 2 questions are: Has anbody had similar problems after apply update2? What is the difference between "e-smith" and "e-smith up" options at the GUI splash screen.

Thanks,
Bill
