hello all,
I have Hylafax up and going (thanks to the rpm's etc from Darrell May).
One question,
How do I get the user to fax direct from M$ Word etc.
I've tried WHFC client but it doesn't seem to want to fax attachments etc. I'd prefer to be able simply choose a printer and have that fax the pages etc.
I read somewhere about using Samba to set it up , but am a little cautious when touching anything that is not accessed via the server-manager (5.1.2).
Any ideas ?
cheers,
Adam

double check the whfc web site docs, you can set up a print queqe using the client software, and print to it from any widows program.

WHFC works great for faxing from any Windows application. You do have to install the printer driver of course. Then simply have WHFC running and when you print to the installed HylaFAX printer, the send fax dialog launches.
Note depending on your environment the dialog may not pop up to the foreground so you may have to minimize your foreground app to see the dialog.

Thanks DArrell,
where do I find a e-smith version of a HOWTO to get the printer installed ? I had a quick look at the printcap file but it said that I should use the template system and don't know much about that side of things.
Can I set it up via e-smith's server-manager ?

Hi,
I did downloaded the WHFC from Darrel May's website but found that I
always cannot login although the username and password has been defined in
/var/spool/fax/etc/hosts.hfaxd.
I appreciate if any help can be obtained.
Thanks in advance

I suggest if you are looking for free support for HylaFAX try www.hylafax.org and for WHFC try http://www.uli-eckhardt.de/whfc/.

Do Hylafax know about e-smith ?
I thought this'd be the place for asking about installing stuff on e-smith as the template system etc is not the standard with linux distros - but i could be wrong.
