Title: pop over ssl rpm problems
Post by: kyle coburn on October 02, 2002, 10:29:28 AM
after following all the instuctions on this page:
http://www.pagefault.org/e-smith/contrib/index.html#securemail
i recieve this message when retrieving my email, but i can still recieve my mail if i say yes.

“The Server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified. The certificate’s CN name does not match the passed value. Do you want to continue using this server?”
this is in MS outlook. otherwise it works fine.
how can i fix this??

I installed the following rpms, following the directions after each one in this order:
e-smith-cvm-unix-0.0.2-01dc.noarch.rpm
e-smith-securemail-0.0.1-01dc.noarch.rpm
e-smith-pop3s-0.0.1-01dc.noarch.rpm

What name did you use when you made the cert? I get the same thing when I browse to https://www.domain.com instead of https://domain.com. It's just warning you that the cert says one thing (domain.com), but it's actually something else (www.domain.com).

Sorry, I was thinking of the method for the older versions, where you have to manually make a cert.
