I'm trying to install version 5.5, but when it comes to the line :
running /sbin/loader
the installation stops.
The computer freeze completely.
Any idea whats wrong ?
Trying to install on a Maxtor 7200 rpm ATA disk, AMD duron 1200 Mhz cpu, 512 Mb ram.

This applies to Redhat and 7.1 at that but it may help. Perhaps E-Smith/SME also installs with dma enabled.

Don't forget that if it does help doing a "linux ide=nodma" then report your cdrom model to Redhat and maybe Mitel so they know about it and can "fix" it in future versions.

Gave up on installing SME, and then tried Red Hat 8.0
It stopped also, but indicated something about an IRQ 7.
In bios I changed the LPT from IRQ 7 to 5.
Then I installed Red Hat without problems.
And then, just for the fun on it, I tried to install SME, and there was no problems?
So now I running a SME vers. 5.5.
But somehow the error-message was better in the Linux installation, but still, it wasn't pointing out directly what it was.
