Well, searching the forum helps, and multiple post usually doesn't get you anywhere.  I found this doing a search:

Give it a try and let us know how you do.  The posting is older then the release of 5.5 so it may not work, but it's worth a shot.

No that should not be required at all.

I've used the "esmith single" method myself on 5.0 and have suggested it to others who I believe to have been using 5.5 or at least 5.1.2 and it worked fine.
