Title: Changing dhcpd lease times
Post by: Cyrus Bharda on October 07, 2002, 04:41:39 AM
How do I change the lease times for dhcp? I went to edit the /etc/dhcpd.conf and in it the top said edit the templates, but once I edit the templates then how does that affect the original file? Basically i want all the dhcpd lease times to be like 8 days not 24 hours, take pity on this newbie and please help!!  Once I know how to make it all work using the templates I think I'll be fine :-)

Thanks

http://www.e-smith.org/custom/

Basically, you make changes to file fragments stored in a directory with the same name as the file you want to change. Find the directory in /etc/e-smith/templates/ that matches the name of the file you want to change. In that directory, find the fragment for the section of the file you want to edit. Copy that file fragment to the same directory under /etc/e-smith/templates-custom/. When you expand the template at the end, it will replace the standard template section with your custom one.
