Title: HP JetDirect and e-smith
Post by: Ricki on October 21, 2002, 12:58:23 AM
Hi...

I have a HP JetDirect 500 and I want to be able to print to it trough the e-smith server.

The JetDirect is configured to 192.168.0.50
The server is 192.169.0.1.

If I create a network printer on e-smith with the adress 192.168.0.50, I can only print to one port.

How do I catch the other two ports.

I know that port1 is 192.168.0.50:9100 and port2 is 192.168.0.50:9101, but I can't figure how to reach them.

I want a print queue called print1 to go to port1 and a queue called print2 to go to port2.

Any help??

Ricki

The Jet Direct IS a print server so there's no need to run it through another print server (e-smith). Just plug it straight into your network and run a program on the clients called "HP Add Network Printer Wizard" Let me know if you need the program and I will send it you.
